Run, Drive, Sleep? Repeat - NorthPointe Team completes Ragnar Relay

Members of NorthPointe Wellness campus completed a Ragnar Relay race which was a national event to promote running. There were about 5000 runners in this race.

Online PR News – 22-August-2012 – Beloit, WI – On June 8 and 9, twelve members of NorthPointe Wellness joined together to race in the Ragnar Relay. This is a national event that promotes the love of running with a very unique in format with a team (6-12 runners) alternating running in a 200 mile event. The group of runners started in Madison; WI headed to Milwaukee, and finally ended their 200 mile relay in Chicago. The event pushes the runners day and night, with each runner running a 3-10 mile leg of the race.

“This was a first for all of our runners,” states Christine Holmes, the group organizer. “There were 425 teams, for a total of over 5,000 runners. It was an amazing experience. The heat really pushed us to our limits.”

The team completed the race with very little sleep, and in temperatures that reached 92 degrees, in 32 ½ hours. Each member runs at least three portions of the journey. Members of NorthPointe’s “Kickin Asphalt” team included:
