Hatch River Expeditions is usually booked solid at least 2 years in advance for their fabulous white water river rafting expeditions through the Grand Canyon. This year rare openings still exist for the months of July and August 2010.

Online PR News – 10-March-2010 – – Hatch River Expeditions is pleased to announce that for the first time in as long as anyone can remember, there are openings on some of their Grand Canyon white water river rafting expeditions during the months of July and August 2010. Usually trips are booked two or more years in advance, so this is your rare opportunity to make spontaneous last minute reservations. While they are approximately 70% booked this year, there are still about 500 openings with many dates available.

Openings still exist for both the motorized and oar-powered trips, though very few openings remain for the oar-powered trips for this summer.

Trips range from 4-12 days. The most common and most popular excursion is a 7 day trip that runs the full length of the canyon. While you will need to provide what you need for your comfort, Hatch River has the rest of the details handled for you including a scenic helicopter ride and air transfers to Las Vegas, Nevada or Marble Canyon, Page or Grand Canyon South Rim, Arizona at the end of the trip for all full Canyon and lower Canyon expeditions.

If you are interested in these trips, remember that you will be camping out for the duration of the expedition. According to Steve Hatch, owner of Hatch River Expeditions, "This is the best summer camping in the United States. Where else can you sleep out every night, under a starry sky unfiltered by city lights, no bugs, no rain, and tents are neither required nor desired?" And, every night you will be camping in a different location with beautiful new scenery.

Hatch River Expeditions is the oldest white water business in the United States. The business was launched in 1929 by Bus Hatch, a pioneer in white water rafting as a commercial enterprise. The business remains in the family and is currently owned and operated by Bus’s grandson Steve. Steve says "Our generations of experience shine through in everything we do, and as the first whitewater rafting company, we believe our reputation speaks for itself."
