iCritical beats the competition to become award finalist
Online PR News – 17-July-2012 – 16-7-12, Staffordshire, UK – Cloud-based provider of email and web security services, iCritical, has become an award finalist for a top industry award – Best Cloud Offering by EuroCloud UK – presented in London last week.
The EuroCloud UK Awards highlight best practices, innovation and customer success achieved by providers of cloud services and products in the United Kingdom. The Best Cloud Offering award – the highest accolade – recognises services with distinctive features and market appeal. iCritical was the only company from the West Midlands to reach the final 3.
“We were delighted to make the final 3,” said Chris Gee, iCritical Managing Director. “There are so many different cloud offerings available and it’s fantastic to see such diversity. Clearly the cloud is growing and people are really starting to take note of what makes a cloud company successful. We strive to be innovative and focus on customer service so hopefully over the next 12 months we’ll continue to grow and become stronger.”
The UK winners were selected from a total of 57 entries by an independent panel of judges. At a special event held on Wednesday this week, former CIO and industry expert Dr Richard Sykes presented the awards as chair of the judging panel. The other judges were Professor Fred Piper of the Information Security Group at Royal Holloway College and Max Cooter, editor of CloudPro, which supported the Awards as a media partner.
Thanking the entrants and judges for all their efforts, Phil Wainewright, chair of EuroCloud UK and vice president of EuroCloud Europe said: "The breadth and quality of entries to this year’s Awards has been tremendous and demonstrates the growing maturity of the UK cloud industry. Our winners and finalists provide valuable, real-life examples of the benefits of cloud for business. This is concrete evidence of the positive impact of cloud on the wider economy, which EuroCloud will highlight in our work with policy makers at the European Commission and elsewhere.”
