To nurture the young minds International School of Business & Media organized its 9th Orientation Programme for PG Batch of 2012 – 14. Before the new students undergo the rigors of the academics in their Management and Media Post Graduate studies they got a chance to know how the corporate world works. During the 5-day- Orientation Programme bigwigs from business & media world came at ISB&M’s sprawling new campus at New Town.
The Programme began with Dr Pramod Kumar’s inaugural speech. Dr Kumar who is also the President of ISB&M shared the importance of knowledge and the tools to be successful in corporate life. After that came the Keynote address by Mr. Shivasish Das, Head HR of Harley Davidson Motor Company. Mr Das spoke about the culture and the power of a brand giving examples how the Harley Davidson bikes have created a cult following among bike users. Arun Ajmera the CEO of Wall Street Finance Limited told the students how to survive in the competitive business world.
Besides them over the next 5 days the students gained valuable suggestions and advice from other corporate like Mr Alok Mehta, Director HR of Metro Cash & Carry, Mr Uday Zokarkar, Founder of Mantra Media Pvt Ltd, Mr Anil Mehta, President HR, Aditya Birla Group, Mr Pradeep Gogte, VP HR, Adfactors PR Pvt Ltd amongst others.
At ISB&M the mantra no learning is without fun, so at the end of the orientation programme the students were taken to an outbound tour to Digha. During their 2-day field trip the students were involved in management and team building exercises which were personally conducted by the ISB&M President Dr Pramod Kumar.

Gone are the days when students were just given a date to start attending ‘lectures’. Calling experienced professionals from the industry to interact with the students ensures they have a realistic view regarding the current scenario of business, media, and corporate communication. Besides training, they also get maximum exposure and once in a lifetime opportunities to mingle with MD’s and CEO’s through such orientation programmes. It also helps students to get to know each other better.
