Online PR News – 11-July-2012 – Noida,up – NOIDA, UP, India – July 10, 2012. Armed with the success of the first edition, the second edition of the Bhaskar Bollywood awards was launched by the starry team of the Bol Bachchan at the Dainik Bhaskar Group office in BKC, Mumbai on 23 June 2012.
The ceremony was unveiled by the team of forthcoming multi-starrer Bollywood movie, Bol Bachan. The team members including prominent Bollywood star, Ajay Devgan, his co-star Abhishek Bachchan and director Rohit Shetty were present at the event. Apparently, Ajay Devgan was also recipient of last year's Bhaskar award for being the best Bollywood actor in 2011.
The Bhaskar Award is the only Bollywood award in which winners are chosen by the audience themselves. Winners of the awards are selected on the basis of the voting of Dainik Bhaskar Group readership across the country and even abroad. Awards give power to audience to choose the celebs from tinsel town who deserves applause and the award for their contribution in Bollywood movies in 2012.
On this auspicious occasion, Ajay Devgan said, “Usually film awards are decided by a jury which disappoints me. But for a change, a truly democratic award like the Bhaskar Bollywood Awards excites me to accept it as I make films for my audiences – and they are voting for me.”
Abhishek Bachchan added, “I support Ajay. I believe audiences are the best judges, and at the end of the day we make films for them. So awards like these make sense and I am looking forward to the Bhaskar Bollywood Awards.”
Rohit Shetty, when asked what would his reaction be if his name featured in the nominations for Best Filmmaker of the Year for Singham and he won the award, said, “I would be thrilled about being nominated for a totally people’s choice award, naturally.”
The award has been introduced to allow public to participate and choose the stars who deserve awards. The voting will tentatively start from mid-July and ends in mid-August. The panel has planned to provide 16 categories and a fair shortlist of nominees to make public voting instant and simple. Dainik Bhaskar will soon make an announcement for voting so participants can easily vote online through dainikbhaskar.com.
