Online PR News – 03-March-2010 – – During economic boom, when the average consumer's disposible income is good, many people look to add luxury to their life with holidays, new cars and of course home improvement. Many people improve their homes with the addition of a hot tub. As a result of the global reccession the sale of hot tubs has dwindled and caused many hot tub retailers to cease trading or turn to other services in order to turn a profit.

"My thoughts are many hot tub retailers are turning their hand to servicing as a way to get by", said Darren Waters of, a leading supplier of hot tub covers and spare parts. "My concerns are that some of these firms are not experienced or as qualified as they should be to deal with servicing issues" he continued.

The repair and service of hot tubs require a high level of skill and proficiency and should be carried out by qualified engineers. In addition a hot tub if used regularly, will require regular servicing much like any other piece of machinery would, and the concern is that as sales increase some of these "have a go" servicing companies will once again concentrate soley on retail sales and consumers will have to find alternate sources for the servicing needs.

The good news is that in the most part companies that have moved towards the repair and servicing industry take the responsibility very seriously. "Although there are concerns, we are happy to report that the firms buying parts from us, are working towards qualification and safe practice when dealing with Spa Repairs" added Mr Waters.

In actual fact it is quite probable that as a result of the reccesion, the businesses that survive, will emerge stronger than before and be in a position to offer additional services that they otherwise wouldn't. "As sales return to normal" Mr Waters continued, "We expect to see exponential increase in the sale of hot tub covers and other spare parts due to these newly established servicing companies".

SpaFix offer a fantastic example of how these newer companies need to evolve. "Many of our engineers are currently training at College doing my Part P course because there is a grey area over what you can and cant do as a Hot Tub Engineer. By ensuring we are compliant we can be certain we give the best advice on our parts sales, and our servicing and repairs are to the highest standard."
