The commencement was under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and attended by HH Sheikh Abdulla bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs; HH Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research; HE Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, Minister of Foreign Trade; HE Humaid Al Qattami, Minister of Education; Dr Rashid Ahmed bin Fahd, Minister of Environment and Water; and Dr Maitha Al Shamsi, State Minister.
The energy of the commencement complimented the stage aesthetics of Managing & Creative Director Sam Katiela and his team. The whole design was anchored on expressing the power of Masdar’s students, faculty and architecture, through the structure and placement of huge 3-dimensional banners around an elegantly lit stage.
Last year’s success enabled mamemo to further emotionalize this years’ commencement program developed by Masdar Institute which included personable speeches from two of the students, in addition to the impacting speeches from HH Sheikh Adbulla bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Dr Adnan Amin, Director of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). mamemo elevated the whole mood of the proceedings through effective execution of real time 3D animation onscreen support.
