The National Association for the Specialty Food Trade (NASFT) has named The Latest Scoop Ginger Pear Sorbet Outstanding New Product of 2012.

Winners were announced in a red-carpet ceremony in Washington, D.C., by noted chef and culinary innovator José Andrés, who presented the sofi, an acronym for Specialty Outstanding Food Innovation.
Receiving a sofi in the specialty food community is an honor equivalent to winning an Oscar, and being awarded Outstanding New Product is akin to winning Best Motion Picture, says the NASFT. This year's 40th anniversary event drew a record 2,520 contenders in 32 awards categories. The Latest Scoop Ginger Pear Sorbet was singled out from 374 entries in the Outstanding New Product category.
