Marilyn G.S. Emerson, founder of Emerson Educational Consulting in NYC, has been elected President of the Independent Educational Consultants Association(IECA).

Emerson, an independent educational consultant(IEC) from New York City is the new President. Emerson has served as Vice-President for Education, as a Mentor to new educational consultants and as Chairperson of the Membership Committee and the Outreach Committee.
As a member of the Mentoring Sub-Committee, Emerson helped write the Mentoring Handbook. Emerson has also served on faculty at the IECA Summer Training Institute (STI) in 2010 and 2011 and she will serve again in 2012. Emerson is the President and founder of both Emerson Educational Consulting, an educational consulting firm in NYC that specializes in college and graduate school admission consulting, and Ask an Educational Consultant,a 15 or 30 minute question and answer telephone session for students and parents.
