IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Centre hosted the 2012 Rotary International in Bangkok during 6th - 9th May, 2012.

Online PR News – 15-June-2012 – Bangkok – The 2012 Rotary International Convention was held in Bangkok from 6th May to 9th May 2012. This was the biggest international convention ever to be held in Bangkok. Over 38,500 Rotarians from over 160 countries attended the 4-day event which reportedly contributed 3 million Thai Baht to the Thai economy.

The convention was held at IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Centre, one of Asia’s largest and most modern venues with a usable indoor space of over 140,000 sq meters comprising a variety of venue sizes, a 380- room hotel and parking facilities up to 15,000 vehicles.

The 2012 Rotary International Convention took up all meeting rooms, ballrooms, exhibition and convention halls and Arena at IMPACT. The venue is also proud to demonstrate its in-house catering service capability by catering to the culinary needs of the 38,500 delegates, be it American breakfast, European, vegetarian, Halal, cocktails, buffets, and coffee breaks, etc. In fact, IMPACT is the 1st MICE venue in Thailand to be certified with the ISO 22000 Food Safety Management Standard.

Despite the multitude of tasks and issues such as security and traffic to attend to, given the scale of the event and the numbers of activities taking place all at one time, Mr. Milo Moore, the General Contractor from Freeman Company commented that he was very impressed by the services at IMPACT. He said “Everyone has been very responsive to all our needs. We have lots of things we needed and to get done. We called and people came right away. Everything from food and communications are read and everyone has been very helpful.”

This is not the first time that IMPACT has played host to large scale international conventions. The venue had previously hosted similar large scale conventions such as the International Lions Convention, Herbalife Asia Pacific Convention, just to name a few.

Each year, IMPACT hosts over 800 events and welcomes over 15 million visitors. The venue recently upgraded its integrated MICE service capability with the operation of its Novotel IMPACT hotel. The hotel is located at the heart of the venue. Together with the hotel, the venue now offers an all inclusive complete meeting package for meeting planners that includes hotel accommodation, meeting rooms, F&B, etc under the theme “Meet, Eat, Stay, All at One Price at IMPACT.”
