Device42 introduces centralized password management for IT Teams. Now securely and easily manage shared passwords between IT teams while managing server room inventory and IP addresses in an easy to use web console.
Online PR News – 10-June-2012 – New Haven, CT – With introduction of shared password store in Device42 software, IT infrastructure managers and administrators can now safely store all the shared passwords in a centralized repository and assign granular permissions per password for different users and groups. Passwords are stored encrypted in the database using AES 256 bit encryption. Device42 also provides global role based access and integrates with Active Directory for user authentication.
Each password can be assigned to multiple devices and users can also see associated passwords from the device view. Granular user and group permissions per password make it easier to manage all the passwords that need to be shared between team members.
Existing passwords can be imported using excel sheet import feature.
New version of the software also introduces option to visually see multiple racks together. Users can filter racks by room or building and see front or back of all the selected racks together. This makes it easier to provision new devices in the racks.
