Newest NetHosting Case Study Investigates Content Management System WordPress

The system specifications of the WordPress content management system are examined in NetHosting’s most recent case study.

Online PR News – 11-June-2012 – Orem, UT – Leading cloud hosting, app hosting, and dedicated hosting provider, NetHosting, has published its thirty-third case study this morning about the blogging platform WordPress and the systems behind the mammoth blogging service.

In 2003, WordPress was launched by Matt Mullenweg and Mike Little as an easy-to-use website backend. One year later the name WordPress became a licensed product. In the case study, NetHosting reports that since 2005, every version released of WordPress has doubled in the number of users on the site. Aside from the free blogging services, WordPress offers software that users can download to a server (whether their own or a server hosted in a data center) to use to manage their websites.

NetHosting CEO Lane Livingston said, “WordPress is a great product for those who might not want the hassle of administrating and coding a website by themselves. The server architecture behind the blogging site makes a great case study, because it is so lightweight and scalable.”

The WordPress case study reports that there are over 400,000 bloggers on the site, posting 850,000 posts and 1 million comments, about 200 million words, a day. Also, every second 18 changes or updates to blog posts happen all over the world.

Aside from this case study, NetHosting has also reviewed the note-taking company Evernote, the crowdfunding site Kickstarter, and the video-sharing site Vimeo, in other case studies.
