An Inspiring, Complimentary Event at Michigan Design Center March 18 10 a.m.-3:00 p.m
Online PR News – 25-February-2010 – – TROY, Mich. – Homeowners can learn what truly makes an interior design project 'Award Winning' by attending a complimentary home interior design event at Michigan Design Center (MDC) on Thursday, March 18, 2010 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. MDC, in cooperation with Detroit Home magazine, will host Award Winning Design, featuring numerous winners of the 2010 Detroit Home Design Awards. This event will be offered throughout the home furnishing showrooms of Michigan Design Center located at 1700 Stutz Drive in Troy. Everyone is welcome to attend.
The day will begin with an enlightening keynote presentation by Detroit Home magazine editor Rebecca Powers, who will treat guests to a photo tour of many of this year’s award-winning entries, including images not highlighted in their year’s awards issue.
Following Powers inspiring presentation, guests can enjoy additional interior design seminars by winners of this years Detroit Home Design Awards competition. Mark Johnson from Mark Johnson & Associates will welcome guests in the Ghiordes Knot showroom and will share tips for creating award-winning design on a realistic budget. Kevin McManamon of Kevin McManamon Design Consultants Inc. will share his secrets for award-winning interior room design in the Baker Knapp & Tubbs showroom. Kevin Serba of Serba Interiors will be in Stark Carpet, guiding attendees through the important elements of home space planning, room lighting, scale and interior finish selections.
In the Henredon Interior Design Showroom, Jeffrey King of Jeffrey King Interiors will be providing the inside story of award winning interior design while Caroline Groeneveld of Caroline, Inc. will be amusing guests in the Ann Sacks showrooms with tales of home design dilemmas solved as she tackles problem areas and turns them into opportunities. The award-winning design duo Michelle Mio and Jill Schumacher from Rariden Schumacher Mio & Co. will reside in Brunschwig & Fils as they take attendees on a journey of one of their projects, highlighting how all of the elements are strung together to provide the perfect outcome.
Denise Ziya of Designs By Denise will deliver an inspiring seminar on how details make the difference and will highlight the beautiful artwork in TRA Art Group. Richard Ross from Richard Ross Designs will be delighting MDC visitors in Robert Allen | Beacon Hill with his Remodeling Resuscitation lecture that will provide useful tips on how to wake up a tired space.
Visitors contemplating a kitchen remodel won’t want to miss the seminar in Extraordinary Works by award winning designer Robert Zebrowski as he highlights how he helped redefine a space for a beautiful kitchen transformation. Vacation enthusiasts will enjoy visiting Kravet / Lee Jofa as Paula Lancaster and Lynn Simlar of Kathleen McGovern Studio of Interior Design share a before and after pictorial of a desert home getaway they helped create. David Pulice of Classic Lines will highlight how the personalities in a home provide a great source of inspiration for interior designers. This seminar will take place at RJ Thomas, Ltd. Virginia Tile will host Alexander Bogaerts of Alexander Bogaerts & Associates as he delivers an enlightening presentation on shingle style architecture.
