Margao (Goa)-based Dogears Print Media Pvt. Ltd. celebrates 6 years of its existence.
Online PR News – 01-June-2012 – Margao – Today it boasts of dogearsetc.com, an online bookstore for used and difficult-to-find books, cinnamonteal.in, a provider of self-publishing services including print-on-demand, fivex5.com, where "book-selling meets direct marketing" and organizes publishing next, an annual conference that focuses on "the future of publishing". Yet, 6 years ago, Dogears Print Media Pvt. Ltd. started only as a humble online store with the aim of facilitating the trade of used books.
This year, on May 31st, Dogears Print Media celebrates 6 years of its existence. Within that short span, it has broadened its offerings. Dogearsetc.com, its flagship store, although still the only platform in India that facilitates the trade of used books, also offers new books by niche publishers. It has also associated itself with foreign publishers to make its books available in India. In August 2007, barely a year after operations, it launched what was then India's first B2C print-on-demand publishing service, CinnamonTeal Publishing. Now, having published more than 200 titles, it also publishes facsimiles of rare books and bespoke editions of various classics. In 2010, CinnamonTeal Publishing was awarded the British Council-sponsored Young Creative Publisher Award.
fivex5, another unique service from the Dogears stable allows just about anyone to have their own bookstore.
Keeping with its mission to be of service to the publishing industry, India's first conference focused solely on the "future of publishing" was held in Spetember 2011. The second edition of this conference will be held this September. For details see, http://www.publishing-next.com.
