A 1968 Camaro project gets 21st century wheels from HRE. Vivid Racing is providing these modern additions to a muscle car icon.
Online PR News – 24-May-2012 – Gilbert, AZ – A classic 1968 Camaro is morphing into a modern muscle car with Vivid Racing’s help. This is a break from their current car brands, but this proves to be a winning combination. The power plant is a LSX, which will produce monster numbers. This is squeezed into a fully boxed frame with modern day suspension and tubbed rear end to make way for the 11″ wide HRE C95′s.
Final wheel specs are 18×9 fronts and 18×11 rears featuring a satin bronze finish that is accented with silver hardware and center cap. The wheels will be wrapped in Nitto NT01 275/35 and 315/30 tires to provided excellent traction, which will be needed to put that power to the ground.
HRE's Competition Series wheels are individually engineered for weight optimization. Minimizing unsprung weight is a critical factor in any competition-oriented wheel design and one of the greatest engineering challenges. Lower wheel mass decreases resistance to accelerative, braking and suspension forces, and effectively improves handling dynamics. Because HRE wheels are designed as a custom wheel, no offset or bolt pattern choice is needed.
