Online PR News – 21-May-2012 – Cheadle Cheshire – Galt Toys has launched a new board game, Pirate Pursuit (http://www.galttoys.com/index.cfm/Pirate%20Pursuit/1002/productid/1003970), designed to help young children learn to count whilst having fun. Players move around the treasure island filling up their loot bags with coins from the treasure chest, before the rotten pirates in their wind-up galleon catch-up to reclaim the treasure.
Suitable from 3 to 7 years, Pirate Pursuit is the ideal developmental game. The board itself is a caricature treasure island map with a ‘miss a go’ skull and crossbone traps, 24 gold playing coins and loot bags. The object of the game is to be the first player to collect six gold coins in your loot bag. If a player lands on a space showing the pirate galleon, the wind-up ship sets sail to try and reclaim some of its treasure which has been stolen by the players.
John McDonnell, Managing Director at Galt Toys, comments: “Board games have become a staple in many households and Pirate Pursuit is one from our range of seven games that help teach important developmental skills such as counting, memory and colour recognition.
“As well as having an educational purpose, all board games help aid social skills, such as communicating verbally, sharing, turn taking and ability to focus attention. It is also a great way to spend time together as a family.”
Pirate Pursuit retails at £10.99, available from www.galttoys.com
Contents: game board, wind-up pirate galleon, 4 loot bag boards, 24 play coins, 4 pirate counters with stands, dice, dice shaker, guide.
