Siskinds LLP is one of Canada’s premiere law firms with over 70 lawyers, 100 staff, practicing multiple disciplinary areas of laws and with offices in London, Toronto, and Quebec City.

Online PR News – 17-May-2012 – Toronto – On March 26, 2012, Siskinds LLP and tbk Creative, both London-based companies were recognized with a national digital marketing award for best social media campaign in the legal field in Canada through the national industry association, IAC Awards (

The social media campaign, launched in October 2010, and still in existence today, is called Take Your Body Back.

The campaign uses Facebook to let women across Canada know about the class action brought with respect to alleged increased risks with Yasmin & Yaz oral contraceptives. The site allows those interested to receive updates on the litigation, share their experience with others, and become involved in the process.

Now exceeding 6,000 fans, the page continues to grow at a rate of approximately 200 new fans per month and a sizeable number of effected women have registered to be represented in the legal proceeding.

In a Dec. 2, 2010 London Free Press interview, Jasminka Kalajdzic, a law professor at the University of Windsor had this to say about the Siskinds campaign, “It is the first example of social media for class actions that I am aware of in Canada.”

Laurie Hause, Director of Technology & Marketing at Siskinds had this to say about the campaign, “At Siskinds we always strive to be innovative and forward thinking in our approach to law. We wanted to reach as many women as we could in order to provide information they need to know in case they are affected. Facebook turned out to be a great avenue to assist us with this.”

Andrew Schiestel, Chief of WOW! Projects at tbk Creative added, “The results this campaign has created for Siskinds and the Take Your Body Back community are truly remarkable. You’ll see law firms across the continent perform more marketing campaigns of this nature in the future.”
