Online PR News – 14-May-2012 – Camp Pendleton, Calif. – Camp Pendleton, CA – Continuing the Semper Ride effort to keep the men and women in uniform safe at home, Camp Pendleton will host Semper Ride Fun Day at the Runway on May 18, 2012. The event is designed for Marines to increase safety awareness, improve motorcycle-handling skills and garner valuable information from seasoned motorcycle riders.

“We are committed to doing everything we can to ensure the safety of our Marines,” says Jeff Tilton, Semper Ride Project Manager. “Noticing an unusually high rate in motorcycle fatalities five years ago, it was clear that we needed to do a better job of educating and training our motorcycle riders. The Semper Ride campaign has played a significant role in reducing motorcycle mishaps and fatalities.”

Semper Ride’s Fun Day at the Runway will feature educational sessions designed for every level of rider from those who have never ridden a motorcycle to the most experienced riders. Jason Pridmore’s STAR Motorcycle School will be giving one-hour clinics and track school throughout the day while American Supercamp will provide a “Learn to Ride” for new riders.

Beyond the motorcycle training, Semper Ride will put on a Poker Run, new product exhibits, freestyle motorcross, street bike demos and family entertainment designed to build camaraderie among the riders based at Camp Pendleton. Pro riders Ronnie Renner, Lance Coury, Jesse Jolson, Brice Hudson and Chris "Teach" McNeil will be on hand for demos, autograph signings and to offer advice to fellow riders.
