Working as a team, TG Bears and Angels4Epilepsy have formed a Facebook support group for parents with children with epilepsy.
Online PR News – 30-April-2012 – Corydon, Indiana – TG Bears, a small woman-owned business, makes handmade teddy bears that can be personalized and even customized. The giving back to the community is an important factor for Monica, owner of TG Bears and this is how the relationship with Angels4Epilepsy has grown.
Angels4Epilepsy is a 501(c)3 charity that started as an idea of a 7-year old girl, Jamie. Jamie was diagnosed with Benign Rolandic Epilepsy and understands how it is to be hospitalized for long periods of time. With the help of her mother, Judy, Angels4Epilepsy was founded and is currently operational in Texas, Florida, Indiana and Ohio.
TG Bears has been associated with Angels4Epilepsy for some time and through this the evident need was noted for a venue where parents of children with epilepsy could come together and lend support to each other and request a epilepsy awareness teddy bear when their child was undergoing some scary or long lasting procedure.
Hernando, the special mascot bear that TG Bears designed for Angels4Epilepsy, is sent directly to one of the members’ children during their hospital stay. This bear can be seen in the Charity category at http://www.tgbears.com. Funds for the bear are generated by contributions made by group members which are matched dollar for dollar by Angels4Epilepsy. Each child also receives a USB bracelet courtesy of Angels4Epilepsy.
Visit Angels4Epilepsy at http://www.angels4epilepsy.org. All US residents that have a child with epilepsy or can lend any support to the epilepsy community are welcome to join the support group on Facebook. The group can be found as “TG Bear to a Child with Epilepsy Support Group”.
