The Property Care Associationâ€™s (PCA) annual awards ceremony recognised the cream of companies and individuals working in the building preservation industry.
Online PR News – 21-April-2012 – UK – The Property Care Associationâ€™s (PCA) annual awards ceremony recognised the cream of companies and individuals working in the building preservation industry.
Held at Cardiffâ€™s Millennium Stadium, the awards celebrated the work of members of the Association operating across the structural waterproofing, wood preservation, damp-proofing, flood remediation and structural repair sectors.
In-keeping with the high profile venue, legendary Bath, England and British Lions prop Gareth Chilcott entertained guests with stories from the game before the awards were announced.
An independent panel judged the awards â€“ open to PCA members only - consisting of Graham Perrior, Head of Standards at the National House Building Council, Douglas Kent, Technical Secretary at the Society for Protection of Ancient Buildings, Roman Rossocki, Chief Executive of TrustMark and Geoff Lister, Chairman of the Cross-Industry Apprenticeship Task Force
Eradicure Alliance won the Training and Staff Development Award, with Brick Tie Preservation winning a Highly Commended in this category. PCA sponsored this award.
Innovation and Sustainability, sponsored by Safeguard Europe Ltd, was won by Yorkshire Dampcourse. Remedial Technical Services won Highly Commended in this category.
Anglia Property Preservation and Premier Preservations were named joint winner of the Project of the Year award, sponsored by Natural Cement Distribution Ltd.
RLH Developments took the final award, the PCA Contractor of the Year, sponsored by N-Virol.
As well as the Associationâ€™s awards, the PCAâ€™s students who have achieved top marks in all three of the trade bodyâ€™s industry qualifications - namely the Student of the Year in the Associationâ€™s CSRT (Certified Surveyor in Remedial Treatment) and CSSW (Certified Surveyor in Structural Waterproofing) courses, as well as Technician of the Year - were also recognised at the event.
Gary Laird of Peter Cox, took the CSRT award, sponsored by Triton and presented by Janice Carey, Chief Examiner for CSRT.
Graham Bright of Anglia Property Preservation took the CSSW award, sponsored by Delta Membrane Systems Ltd and presented by Graham Coleman, Chief Examiner for CSSW.
Tony Francis from Preservation Treatments Surrey Ltd won the Technician Student of the Year, sponsored by Stallard Kane and presented by Steve Hodgson, General Manager of the PCA.
Other sponsors included GPT Ltd and GPI Ltd.
