Joe Flacco and Northwest Honda team up to Fight Juvenile Diabetes

A fundraiser with Northwest Honda and Joe Flacco to help fight Diabetes

Online PR News – 16-June-2009 – – On Saturday June 13, 2009 Joe Flacco, Mark Zinno, and Northwest Honda in Owings Mills, MD held a fundraising autograph session to benefit Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Each autograph signed by Flacco raised $20 in charitable donations for JDRF. The event was a success with over 200 participants and close to $4,500 raised to benefit the foundation.

The event featured Baltimore quarterback Joe Flacco who donated his time and right hand to sign autographs. The autograph session ran from 11:00am to 1:00pm with some fans lining up as early as 9:45am. Eager, charitable fans waited patiently to have their picture taken and memorabilia signed by the Sophomore Quarterback. Football fan and Northwest Honda customer Rachel Schwartz had this to say about the event, "It's great to see a professional athlete who is able to keep everything in perspective. Flacco didn't have to do an event like this nor did Northwest Honda. It is obvious it came from the goodness of their hearts."

Through giving people like Ms. Schwartz, the event raised approximately $4,500 with 100% of the benefits going directly to JDRF. The host of the event, Northwest Honda, believes heavily in community responsibility. For this reason they host events such as this as often as possible. For their efforts to 'go green' Baltimore Magazine awarded them a Best of Baltimore award for The Most Sustainable Car Dealership in 2008. Visit to see how Northwest Honda is eco-friendly.
