Sam Payton announced today his intention to participate in the 2012 Army Ten-Miler.
Online PR News – 17-April-2012 – Washington, D.C. – New York, New York — Sam Payton announced today his intention to participate in the 2012 Army Ten-Miler. The event, held annually in Washington, D.C., raises proceeds to support the U.S. Army Morale, Welfare and Recreation Fund for projects and programs that help soldiers and soldier families. Sam discovered the event through his participation in charity events organized by Lead the Way Fund, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds in support of disabled U.S. Army Rangers, as well as the families of Rangers who have died, been injured or are currently serving in harm’s way around the world.
Sam Payton completed the ‘A Run Down Hero Highway’ event in support of Lead the Way Fund, Inc. in November of last year and is making plans to participate again this year, in what will be the event’s 6th anniversary. Lead the Way Fund hosts ‘A Run Down Hero Highway’ to support U.S. Army Rangers and their families. The organization provides spouses and children of deceased, disabled or active duty Rangers with assistance for health and wellness programs and other services determined to be vital to the family’s well-being.
“I’m very happy to be involved in events promoted by Lead the Way Fund, and am excited to raise funds and awareness among friends and family for the Army Ten-Miler.” said Sam Payton. “Rangers and other members of our military are often their family’s sole providers, and as such, at times of tragedy a family’s financial resources are not always commensurate with their need. The men who sacrifice for all our benefit are inspiration for me to help with this need.”
Sam Payton supports the Lead the Way Fund’s efforts to meet the needs of families of the fallen or disabled. The non-profit organization was established to help ease military families’ financial burdens and to help these families adjust to the realities of their new lives.
“Events promoted by the Lead the Way Fund are great ways for us to join together to support families of fallen or disabled Army Rangers,” said Sam Payton. “The events are for a great cause and I look forward to many more in years ahead.”
