About The Artist - A self-taught artist who began creating jewelry in 2009. Penny Cheng's first designs highlighted an array of glass, crystals and semiprecious stones, but her love of metal art led the way to her specialization of Chainmaille Jewelry, a technique in which small rings are individually woven together. Cheng's use of these Chainmaille Weaves, made from stainless steel, copper, brass and bronze, has enabled her to bring her vision of "Wearable Art" to life.
Cheng also teaches the art of Chainmaille weaving locally and participates in local craft fairs/trade shows. She is an active member of Artists in the Boro and The Artisan Group and is a devoted advocate of child and animal welfare.
