Online PR News – 11-April-2012 – Cleveland – National Cancer Registrars Week (NCRW), an annual celebration of the cancer registry profession founded by the National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA), kicks off today. With more than 35 years in the cancer registry profession, CHAMPS Oncology is honored to join NCRA in celebrating cancer registrars and their commitment to quality cancer data management.
This year’s NCRW theme, "Partners in Progress,” highlights the progressive movement of medicine in the world today and the value of the cancer registrar in partnering with the medical community for a cancer free tomorrow. The NCRA website offers a list of NCRW celebration suggestions, including:
• Display NCRW posters and magnets
• Request an official recognition of "Cancer Registrars Week" from your State Governor's Office
• Set up a display about the Cancer Registry in the main lobby of your hospital
• Create an email signature with the NCRW slogan
• Promote a cancer awareness project
• Plan a departmental luncheon with NCRA members
As the leaders in cancer program compliance, CHAMPS Oncology recognizes the critical work being done by its staff, and the more than 7,300 cancer registrars nationwide.
“This week we celebrate all cancer registrars for their efforts as allies in the war on cancer,” said CHAMPS Oncology Vice President, Toni Hare. “We look forward to NCRW each year as a way to highlight the important work being done in a profession few people know much about.”
