Online PR News – 04-April-2012 – Memphis, Tenn. – Gayle Rose, founder and CEO of EVS Corporation, was recently selected as one of 10 Memphis CEOs honored in the first MBQ: Inside Memphis Business CEO of the Year Awards.
Rose was one of three winners in the category of businesses with one to 50 employees. She founded EVS in 2005 in Memphis with a vision to leverage technology to solve business problems. Under her dynamic leadership, EVS has emerged as an industry leader in the fiercely competitive cloud backup market.
“It’s wonderful to be recognized for the hard work my team and I put in every day,” Rose said. “I lead a group of very smart people and without them we don’t have a company, so this recognition belongs to our entire team. It is a reflection of the excellence we strive for every day.”
Despite being MBQ’s first CEO of the Year Award process, the magazine’s editors said they received many well-qualified nominations.
“The winners represent a cross-section of our business community – the best and brightest in Memphis,” said Greg Akers, editor of MBQ. “CEOs are prudent to keep their eye on the bottom line. For us, the bottom line is this: the work they and their companies do makes our whole community better.”
Rose has had several other recognitions in her career, including being named to Business Tennessee's 100 Most Powerful People, being the first woman CEO to appear on the cover of Business Solutions Magazine and co-founding Dr. Deepak Chopra's company, The Chopra Companies. Rose received the Economic Excellence and Equity Award from Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen in 2005. She is co-founder of the Women's Foundation for a Greater Memphis and was internationally recognized in 2007 with the Changing Face of Philanthropy Award from the Women's Funding Network. In 2008, she was named Humanitarian of the Year by Diversity Memphis. She also serves as chairman of the Rose Family Foundation’s private charity.
