Augmented Reality leader, Gravity Jack, has announced its collaboration with BodyBuilding.com and Abby Fox Fitness to provide engaging augmented reality voting materials, social media and more to the Arnold Classic Expo.
Online PR News – 28-February-2012 – – LIBERTY LAKE, Wash. – In an announcement today, Gravity Jack, an industry leader in augmented reality (AR) technology, has confirmed that it will be providing exclusive augmented reality content during the Arnold Sports Festival, in cooperation with BodyBuilding.com, Abby Fox Fitness, and official BodyBuilding.com webcaster and IFBB Pro Brooke Erickson. The Arnold Sports Festival, named after Arnold Schwarzenegger, is held annually in Columbus, Ohio, and is the largest multi-sport event in the nation.
The announcement, furthering the use of augmented reality within the sports industry, comes from the studio in a string of additional announcements that just this month have debuted partnerships with IZOD IndyCar Series, Jay@Play’s MushABelly brand, and more. The company, specializing in the new interactive technology, has created digitally enhanced marketing materials that will be available to all attendees of the Arnold Sports Festival, through the company's free flagship augmented reality browser. The app, BrowsAR, is available on Apple's App Store and the Android Market, free of charge.
Visitors to the Arnold Sports Festival will encounter a number of banners, equipped with Gravity Jack's patented augmented reality markers, called Quick Augmented Reality codes, or 'QARs'. Users will be able to scan these QARs, (which appear similar to QR codes with a border for augmented reality tracking) using the browsAR app, on a mobile device. Unlike QR codes, which often provide static information, like a hyperlink or contact information, when users scan a QAR, they will instantly experience interactive, three-dimensional content, integrated seamlessly within the real-time camera view. This is all made possible using Gravity Jack's technology, called 'augmented reality'.
According to the announcement, Abby Fox Fitness will have banners at the entrance, as well as at the official Abby Fox Fitness booth. Additionally, due to a partnership with IFBB Figure Pro Brooke Erickson (who will be providing exclusive webcast analysis for the women's events), and BodyBuilding.com (the most-visited bodybuilding and fitness site in the world), BodyBuilding.com will also host banners. The AR banners, when scanned with browsAR, will trigger exclusive augmented reality content, including video content, and the ability for viewers to vote for favorite Arnold Sports competitors. Additionally, those viewing the technology-enhanced banners will also be able to 'Like' the BodyBuilding.com, Abby Fox Fitness, and Gravity Jack Facebook page, follow each on Twitter, and visit websites for each.
Augmented reality has recently launched into both the mainstream technology and marketing industries, and continues to grow. Gravity Jack has quickly established itself as a leader in the space and has alluded to further announcements in a wide range of verticals, coming soon. In the coming months, Gravity Jack (http://www.gravityjack.com) will be attending both the SXSW and ad:tech San Francisco conferences, where they are expected to make further announcements regarding the future of augmented reality. Fans and first-timers of augmented reality alike can currently download Gravity Jack's browsAR app, free of charge, and experience augmented reality in various ways, including the ability to create their own QAR codes, showing their own Facebook profile.
