Vice President of Business Development at leading Manhattan website development firm demands retraction from leading business publication.
Online PR News – 23-February-2012 – New york, NY – According to PJ Farrell, Vice President of Business Development at dzine it, Inc., a leading New York website design and website development firm with clients from around the world, a recent article published in Entrepreneur magazine (www.entrepreneur.com) attributed quotes and comments to him that he never made.
“I was shocked and dismayed when I saw my name on the pages of Entrepreneur magazine, knowing that I was never interviewed by them, nor did I ever make any of the statements attributed to me,” Farrell said. “It was even more disturbing to realize that I was quoted as saying things that I would never say about the website featured in the article.”
The article in question, according to Peter Crisafi, Vice President at dzine it, profiles Bryce (http://bryceorganics.com) a New York-based organic skin care company and how recent changes to its marketing and branding have resulted in an increase in sales. Within the article, written by Jennifer Wang, Farrell is quoted extensively about how a website’s first impression can make all the difference when it comes to online marketing and sales.
“While the quotes attributed to Mr. Farrell do reflect many of the core beliefs that we at dzine it hold when it comes to website design, development and marketing, the article gives readers the impression that Mr. Farrell is speaking specifically about the Bryce website,” explains Crisafi. “It is bad enough that Mr. Farrell never spoke to the article's author about this subject, but worse that the author somehow related it back to this company’s website.”
Both Farrell and Crisafi agree that the Bryce website is not example of good website design and no one from dzine it, with countless awards under its belt for design, development and marketing, would ever endorse such a poorly developed site. In fact, they both say that the Bryce website is a shining example of what not to do when it comes to website design and development.
“I would argue that the website is actually in need of a major design and development overhaul by a professional website development firm,” Farrell says. “It is poorly designed and should serve as an example of how not to achieve online success.”
Farrell, with the support of dzine it, plans to seek a retraction from Entrepreneur magazine.
