ISSO Seva is going to launch in the UK this July. Some relief projects undertaken by ISSO Seva in the past:
Much of the funds raised by ISSO Seva will be spent on building schools and hospitals in deprived areas of the world. Not forgetting local needs, where present, we have been holding camps and events involving youths of all ages for over 15 years. We are proud that these individuals have now grown and developed into responsible adults and hence paving the way for their future.
In 2001, India suffered a catastrophic earthquake that measured 7.9 on the Richter scale and took the lives of over 50,000 people. Many people in the state of Gujarat were left homeless, without food or any resources. ISSO Seva launched a global effort to provide immediate assistance to the area. Members worked with various local businesses and schools to raise money. The youths set up relief booths in shopping centres, malls, collected donations from sponsors, and coordinated food and clothing drives. Members worked day and night, raising over £250,000 and collected over six hundred boxes filled with clothing and supplies.
In 2005, the earthquakes that triggered Tsunamis in South East Asia caused devastation with approximately 160,000 lives lost. Victims were left homeless, without proper medical attention, food and water. ISSO Seva conducted a relief fund, collecting donations to alleviate the effect of this disaster. Furthermore, in conjunction with the organisation Share & Care, ISSO Seva worked to gather supplies, clothing and blankets, which were sent to the affected areas.
