Jammu & Kashmir Pilgrims & Tourist Number increased to 1.5 Crore in 2011 and from that almost 4 lakhs were patnitop tourists.

Online PR News – 01-February-2012 – – As per the tourists stats of the previous year the state of Jammu & Kashmir recorded total of 1.5 crore pilgrims & tourists in year 2011. The security situation saw a great improvement, law-order was all favorable and incidents related to militancy also counted on less as such the state was able to gather people from all over the world.

Among all visiting the place, Mata Vaishnodevi shrine cave experienced a total of 1 crore pilgrims, followed by Kashmir & Ladakh accounting to a total of 13 lakh & 1.79 lakh people including foreign & Indian Tourist. The city of Patnitop located in Jammu gathered a total of 4 lakh visitors. In the recent years, specially after the Kargil war & other terrorist activity that the area has been observing every now & then the tourist rate declined adversely. Since then, 2011 was the only year to bring remarkable changes from 1.15 crore & 1 crore for year 2010 & 2009 respectively.

The combined efforts of the state, the military services for security have all paved the way for people and the present state chief Minister Omar Abdullah is really happy with these and plans to maintain & even improve the service from all aspects, providing travelers with cherished experience.

The favorable climate of this state's cities, is good enough for winter as well as summer. However, winter are at time much cool with snowfall all around, yet in this lies another beauty of the place to be seen. With number of sites to see, shop, eat and enjoy in J & K viz. Patnitop, Pathankot, Nainital, Dalhousie, Udhampur & lot more holds lot os surprise for all its visitors.
