Shannon-The Worldâs Greatest Beatles Artist was unable to choose just one winner out of all the submissions, so she randomly selected 20 winners from all the global entries to her contest with an added surprise for one lucky winner.
Online PR News – 09-June-2009 – – Entries to a last minute contest poured in from Beatles fans around the world in hopes of winning an invitation to Shannonâs private VIP Gallery Reception â âThe Beatles by Shannon (A Hard Decadeâs Night)â. The contest, which stated that just one winner would be chosen by Shannon herself, ran for just 5 days this past week with the winner to be announced contacted on June 7.
After pouring over the all the entries with some coming from as far as Canada, Denmark and Brazil, Shannon decided to pick 20 random entries and send them all invitations to her celebration.
âI am over whelmed by the geographical participation. I was under the impression this would be a (New) Jersey thing. Sharing this night with the contest winners, Sid Bernstein, May Pang, and many other Beatle-people is quite an honorâ said Shannon about her decision to invite 20 adoring fans.
But Shannonâs generosity didnât stop there. She has announced that one of the contest winners will have the honor of unveiling one of the eight pieces she is debuting for the first time in the U.S. The winner will join the growing list of celebrity unveilers that will be attending the nightâs festivities. They include: May Pang, Sid Bernstein, Dennis Ferrante, Mark Weiss and Shaun Weiss.
The invitation only reception will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2009 from 7 â 9 pm in the Prudential Hall Lobby of the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, NJ.
Shannonâs artwork is strikingly lifelike and has frequently been mistaken for photographs. Her paintings have appeared on: The Tonight Show, David Letterman, Good Morning America and Oprah. Shannon has received the âthumbs upâ from the Spielbergs, The Stallones, Billy Bob Thornton, Cheap Trick, Billy Idol, Steven Tyler and No Doubt. Ringo Starr owns a Shannon original painting of him and John Lennon that hangs above his original drum kit in his recording studio.
