Joe Simunovich facilitates coalition between New Jersey Parking Institute and Green City Standards creating the GreenParkingLibrary.com
New Brunswick, NJ – January 19th, 2012. The New Jersey Parking Institute, an industry leader in providing education, networking and seminars related to “Everything Parking” announced the NJPI’s commitment to creating, The Green Parking Library. Joining resources with Green City Standards, an organization committed to energy and environmental responsibility, The New Jersey Parking Institute will host and offer free on its website, www.njparkinginst.com, to parking professionals, local governments, community leaders, the public, developers and others interested in the development of surface lot and structured parking facilities, an online central location to provide comprehensive information, products, services and resources related to next generation environmentally efficient parking facility design and construction.

The idea for the joint project was created by Joe Simunovich, Luis Moro and Leonard Bier during the recent NJPI and League of Municipalities conferences in Atlantic City. “There is a tremendous amount of information available regarding the “Greening of Parking Facilities” centralizing it will provide our members and the parking industry with opportunities they may not be aware of, to retrofit old and construct new facilities to 21st Century green standards.” said Leonard Bier, Executive Director of NJPI.

NJPI will host the Green Parking Library and make it available to all New Jersey Municipalities as a resource link on their city websites. “The response at the recent NJPI Conference in Atlantic City was fantastic. Our members are excited to be able to access a single online source for green information and our vendors welcome the opportunity to showcase their services and the environmental benefits of their products”, said Mr. Bier.
