Online PR News – 15-January-2012 – – The CQ Institute has developed an innovative and low cost program designed to transform coporate communicate culture.
CQ is the shorthand for Communication Intelligence (or Communication Quotient)
It is a set of skills that enable a professional to communicate effectively in the workplace. Those who demonstrate low CQ are unable to communicate as effectively. CQ formalises the behaviours required for high level communication into a competency framework allowing professionals and organisations to transform their corporate communication culture.
CQ is a result of intense research conducted by the CQ Institute for the past three years. The research initially began following executives' concern at the impact of email on their organisations'; this led to the discovery of the extent of corporate and academic research on e-communication and messaging.
The CQ Institute has published the book 'The CQ Manifesto' to change professional lives. The CQ Manifesto deals powerfully with daily problems we all face with electronic communication, by describing 5 personas that optimise the way professionals communicate.
The CQ assessment provides an in-depth assessment of the full sphere of communication behaviour. It has been developed to provide an accurate assessment of communication behaviour in the workplace. Critical to effective learning is self-insight about current skills levels, and the stretch required to be expert in a field.
The CQ Institute has also developed the CQ e-Workshop series designed to enable participants to explore the concepts of CQ in greater depth, and then practice them in a way in which they, and their organisations, can measure their development.
