Today, launches the online Loughborough forums, along with Loughborough chat, local information and news, as well as a pub and business guide for the town.

Local people moderate the LoughboroughLife forums and create groups for specific Loughborough communities and interests, so the website has a truly local atmosphere.

Online PR News – 11-January-2012 – – Alec Hodgson, Editor of said "we're pleased to announce the launch of, the first site for proper Loughborough news, local issues and the home of true Loughborough forums.

"We have recruited local people to moderate the forums and to create groups for specific Loughborough communities and interests, so the website should have a local atmosphere.

"Our local editors have participated on other 'local' community sites that turned out to be uninterested in the local point of view. is different because the content and structure of the site is in the hands of the Loughborough community, not some overworked editor sitting in London or abroad"

The website launch will be accompanied by a further recruitment campaign using social media and a local leaflet drop in selected areas of the town. Residents will be asked to nominate someone to look after a forum dedicated to their area of the town.

Hodgson continues "Loughborough University should be an excellent resource for the Town, however at the moment it fails to fulfil that role. Through we will connect students with local residents and the many ways that cooperation can help improve the town.

The launch of presents an excellent opportunity for town and gown to work together. In particular the "Local Help" section of the forums allows volunteers to connect with local residents, gaining valuable experience but also contributing to the Loughborough community in a way not seen to date." will also explore Loughborough planning issues through their planning section and Loughborough planning forums, and will offer a definitive Loughborough pub guide which the town currently lacks and is needed by students and visitors to the town alike.
