Rachana Sansad to offer new courses to students

Rachana Sansad, India’s premier art, architecture and design school is now gearing up to offer new courses to students. To keep pace with the upgradation and introduction of new courses, the institute also has initiated building expansion program.

Online PR News – 11-January-2012 – – Mumbai, January 10, 2012: Rachana Sansad, India’s premier art, architecture and design school is now gearing up to offer new courses to students. The Institute already has 18 courses under the Graduate and Post-Graduate faculty. In addition to these, the Institute plans to add 3 new courses that will help students to branch out further in the disciplines of Art, Architecture and Building Technology. The new courses to be added are Valuation, Estate Management and Landscape Architecture. All these courses will commence from 2012 onwards. The course on Landscape Architecture will be affiliated with the University of Mumbai.

Rachana Sansad has been continuously adding and improving educational facilities in field of Art, Architecture, technology and allied disciplines ever since its inception in 1960. It has established itself as one of the leading educational centers in India by winning several prizes and awards in national and international competitions year after year.

Explaining the need to keep updating and improving the courses, Sumant H. Wandrekar, Founder, Chairman and Managing Trustee of Rachana Sansad, says, “The philosophy of education at Rachana Sansad is to provide up-to-date education that enables young men and women to be successful in their professions and life, by inculcating and experiencing discipline, respect, motivation and joy in learning. This process of education is always in league with the times, contemporary changes, new reaches, demands and needs of the hour.”

To keep pace with the upgradation and introduction of new courses, the institute also has initiated building expansion program. Rachana plans to construct additional floors above the existing eight storey building. They have received FSI 4 from the government. The new premises, besides providing additional floor space for present and new educational and social activities, will also have a Convention Center, an

International Design Centre, Large Auditorium, a Gymnasium, parking for about 100 cars, etc. “Updating standards of teaching and positive validation is a constant here. The education at Rachana Sansad is not only a college experience, but interaction with professionals and learning from their experience and achievements is a norm,” says Mr Wandrekar. Abhin Alimchandani, renowned architect and ex-student of Rachana Sansad, is helping in the design and planning of the additional floors. Various other alumni are also involved in this project.

The institute will be celebrating its annual Foundation Day from January 13 – 16, 2012. A lot of activities like seminars, workshops, exhibitions, competitions etc. have been planned for the students on this occasion. There will be interactions organised with many prominent and eminent personalities from the art, architecture and design industry. The institute has also invited a well-known architect from Jordan, Rasem Badran for the ocassion. Mr Badran will be giving a public lecture at Veer Savarkar auditorium on January 13, 2012 at 6.30 pm. Also the institute will host an Alumni dinner. The institute, through this programme, plans to give students the opportunity to interact with professionals and learn from them so that they in turn may excel in their careers.
