Barry is a shareholder in the Pass Through Entity team in the firm’s tax service line. She is responsible for coordinating tax compliance and consulting engagements for closely held corporations, partnerships and individuals. Barry has significant experience working with companies in the construction, healthcare, real estate, wholesale distribution and retail industries.
She joined Bennett Thrasher in 1995 after graduating from North Georgia College and State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting and in 1997 became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), licensed to practice in Georgia. Barry is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Georgia Society of CPAs (GSCPA).
Braley is a shareholder in the Financial Reporting and Assurance service line, specifically working in the firm’s Dispute Resolution and Forensics area. He has extensive experience assisting his clients with corporate investigations, litigation support, economic damage analyses, financial reporting compliance, complex accounting issues and anti-fraud consulting services. Braley’s experience in public accounting combined with his extensive accounting and regulatory reporting experience in the professional services, high technology/software, retail, manufacturing, healthcare and financial lending industries provide him with a broad base of functional and business knowledge that affords him the opportunity to add significant value to each engagement.
Prior to joining Bennett Thrasher in 2008, Braley spent six years at KPMG LLP and an Atlanta-based CPA firm in its Forensic Accounting and Litigation Support practice. He began his career in 1995 at Arthur Andersen LLP where he spent seven years in the Assurance and Business Advisory practice providing Financial Statement Audit services to both publically registered and privately owned companies.
He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified in Financial Forensics, a Certified Fraud Examiner and a Certified Valuation Analyst. Braley graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1995 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Georgia Society of CPAs (GSCPA), the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts.
Oberst is a principal in the Pass Through Entity team in the firm’s tax service line. He is responsible for coordinating income tax engagements for closely held corporations, partnerships, not-for-profit organizations and individuals. Oberst has significant experience in corporate, partnership, individual, estate, gift and trust taxation, serving public charities and private foundations and tax research.
He joined Bennett Thrasher in 1998 after earning a Master of Business Administration in accounting from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Before taking up a career in accounting, he earned a Doctor of Philosophy in history from Columbia University in New York City and was an officer in the admissions and financial aid departments of Columbia’s MBA program. Oberst earned his Bachelor of Arts in history from Swarthmore College. He became a Georgia Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in 2000 and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountatnts (AICPA) and the Georgia Society of CPAs (GSCPA).
