Kentucky Arts Council expands Kentucky Peer Advisory Network

The Kentucky Arts Council has selected 18 professional arts administrators and artists for its roster of arts consultants in the Kentucky Peer Advisory Network program.

Online PR News – 30-January-2010 – – FRANKFORT, Ky. - The Kentucky Arts Council has selected 18 professional arts administrators and artists for its roster of arts consultants in the Kentucky Peer Advisory Network program. Through this program, arts organizations, community groups, schools and eligible artists can receive low-cost advisory assistance in areas of board development, grant writing, planning, fund-raising, marketing, promotion and more. Eligible artists are those who have been accepted into the Kentucky Arts Council marketing programs.

The new peer advisors are Betsy Adler, Lexington; Dan Neil Barnes, Lexington; Angela Bartley, Louisville; April Brumfield, Richmond; Marcie Christensen, Lawrenceburg; Mylinda Dockery, Lexington; Scott Dowd, Louisville; Brad Downall, Madisonville; Darrell Edwards, Bowling Green; Judith Egerton, Louisville; Jeff Jamner, Louisville; Joe LaMay, Burnside; Vicki Middlesworth, Lexington; Kathleen O'Brien, Harrodsburg; Jennifer Reis, Morehead; Phil Shepherd, Lexington; Anita Streeter, Louisville; and Mary Margaret Villines, Munfordville. The Kentucky Peer Advisory Network roster offers services from 52 Kentucky arts professionals.

Kentucky Peer Advisory Network consultants bring many areas of expertise to the field and have received consultancy training from Craig Dreeszen of the Arts Extension Service of the University of Massachusetts Amherst, the nation's leading provider of professional arts management education. Kentucky was one of the first states to adopt the peer advisory network concept developed by the Arts Extension Service to help community arts organizations and artist businesses operate more effectively.
