Calling all artists, from all skill levels to attend this life changing event in art.
Online PR News – 28-January-2010 – – The 1st annual cast iron workshop will be held from July 4 – Aug 1. Each session is one week long. The workshop, offered by the Sculpture Trails Outdoor Museum will be held at the rolling hills of Solsberry, Indiana. "The trails now have 40 sculptures along its two miles of paths deep in the woods." Each sculpture has its own private space in the woods so the environment can accept the sculpture over time. The sculpture collection started with friends of the founder and expanded to include friends of friends and has now grown into "a well-rounded outdoor sculpture museum with sculptures from all over the United States as well as Kenya and England."
Participates for this workshop are signing up fast, and spots are filling up fast. "Four master iron casters and mold makers will be there to assist the participants in any way they need." From novice to advanced everyone is welcome.
Everyone involved from crew to participants are asked to also enter the Cast Iron Sculpture Exhibition. This exhibition will become part of the Museum’s collection and continue to grow over the years to come. This is a great opportunity for the sculptors traveling from abroad because it could give their sculpture a home and they will not have to worry about the cost of shipping it back home.
Everyone involved in the workshop is invited to camp and eat together for the length of his or her stay. There are hotels and restaurants close by for those interested in an alternative. A Wellness Cabin is available for all campers and crew where daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be available. All participants will help each other with cooking and cleaning. The cabin is equipped with basic bathroom, shower and laundry facilities. The camping aspect is a big part of the full experience. "It is the time when crew and participants can sit down and finally meet each other after a hard day at work and of course, have a beer, while discussing the day around a campfire."
Join us for the 1st Annual Cast Iron sculpture workshop.
