Online PR News – 17-December-2011 – – Couture Showcase- 2011, Lovely Professional University’s Annual Fashion Show, left its imprint enthralling audiences with courteous presence of world’s best models and beauty pageants Winners- Denise Garrido, Miss World Canada; Emma Waldron, Miss World Ireland; Fanney Ingvarsdottir, Miss World Iceland; Marika Savsek, Miss Universe Slovenia & CLAUDIA ARCE Lemaitre, Miss Universe Bolivia. It is for the first time, in the history of any of the fashion shows, that such a large number of beauty queens walked the ramp together else than in the actual Miss Universe and Miss world competitions.
Their charming walk on the ramp, at SBRM Square of the campus, heightened the dimensions of the show organized by the School of Fashion of the University. The fashion evening saw the display of designer collections through 90 promising students of the Fashion programme. The great moments of the show were when the Beauty pageants wore the dresses designed by the students and walked the ramp. These beauty queens not only walked the ramp once all but three times, under different theme rounds of the show. This Show was also in the aid of the cause where the statement was a message of oneness and to raise funds to help the poor kids. Over 200 students of the school came together, directly or indirectly to support this noble initiative.
Talking to media about the show, the Chancellor of the University, Mr Ashok Mittal said: “As a groundbreaking initiative, such a mammoth show of global grandeur will certainly encourage young learning fashion designers at the University to explore scales and create links in the global industry. This event will definitely help them in their brand display-development, using state-of-art manufacturing facilities and technological support mechanisms requirement. This will be in addition to understanding the deep human values to bring forth a happy and peaceful world.”
On contacting, Miss Universe, Lemaitre, she expressed her happiness on being among the great number of students from different states of India and many countries of the world. She also said: “It is looking great to me to see the creations of the young designers. Usually we Ramp-walk with the designs from the well reputed world class designers; however this is for the first time to have the best designs from the university students. I wish them to grow more under such a global experience.”
In fact, the exhibition at the show had the opportunity for students In line with international fashion weeks, and this initiative was, indeed, a huge success. While talking about their experience, first time participating university designer and model students Akanksha, Hema, Richard , Robin, Pallavi, Surya, AmanPreet, Shalini, Brijesh said: “Seeing the super models of the world displaying our own creations from eight collections of Bloom My Pretty, Pin-up Queen, Organized Chaos, Mela, Mystic Segments, Popular Prowess, Sufi-E-Saba & Aqua Marine has enthralled us all. These are under inspiration from Raflesia Flower, Dark Magic, Waste Material, Pushkar Fair, Insects, Pop Art, Sufi and Water. This special walk of the beauty queens, for gowns & dresses, street casual, tops, Jodhpuri pants, Indian wear, theme outfits, Indo-western, Churidaar & Kameez- wears, will boost us all to grow more towards the global industry of fashion. We salute our alma mater for providing such a great platform on these lines.”
