Actian and Numsight Sign Strategic Partnership

The Actian and Numsight Partnership marks the launch of bundled solution for analyzing large databases at a lower cost.

Covering technology solutions and marketing efforts, the agreement marks both companies’ commitment to provide customers with data analytics at the speed of thought.

Numsight is a marketing provider of consulting, services and solutions in the field of customer knowledge management and targeted marketing. Numsight’s customers are predominantly large consumer retail organisations. Numsight Information Services, the French IT division that provides databases hosting services and marketing software solutions, has to handle huge volumes of customer data, amounting to billions of lines and terabytes of space. Its major solutions are Retail BI (promotion and product performance analytics) and Datasharing platform (a web-based interface which bundles reporting and software for survey analytics, enabling retail professionals to share database analysis results). Having decided to terminate the agreement with its previous partner, Numsight Information Services identified the competing solutions in the analytics software market and carried out performance testing as well as price comparison. Vectorwise soon emerged as the superior solution for use with Numsight’s analytics software. When testing it on a virtual machine, using just one eighth of the processing power Vectorwise achieved equivalent performance to competing solutions. Vectorwise also proved to be the most cost-efficient solution compared to its rivals.
