Online PR News – 13-December-2011 – – 30 Water Street, a water dispenser company based in New Jersey, has announced it will be holding its first Clean Water Awards Contest. The awards will be issued to 40 companies, people or locations in eight categories of water conservation and improvement.

"We wanted to recognize companies, schools, people and locations around the world that are doing their part to improve or maintain clean water resources for future generations", explained company owner Adrienne Hew, "There's not enough focus these days on those people who are improving our natural resources. We want people to know that there is hope for the future and that we appreciate those who are making sincere efforts to protect our drinking water."

Unclean drinking water has been linked to widespread disease and even death in both first world countries and developing nations. Even in those areas that are considered to have safe drinking water, heavy metals, chemical residues and pharmaceutical contaminants are an increasing threat to human health.

As a result, an ever growing number of individuals, service organizations, educational institutions and government outfits are focusing on smart water policies. Such policies serve to clean up contaminated waterways, ration water usage through new technologies and preserve natural water formations in a pristine state by limiting tourism and expansion of certain building projects. In many cases, they are winning as evidenced by the proliferation of wildlife in these areas.

30 Water Street is currently accepting names of nominees for the awards contest on their Facebook page and on their water dispenser blog. Names and votes will be collected over the next six weeks with winners being announced at the beginning of February.
