– 42nd ISTD National Convention scheduled in Kolkata during 20 and 21 January 2012

The Kolkata Chapter of the Indian Society for Training and Development (ISTD) is hosting this year’s 42nd ISTD National Convention at Kolkata, (Science Park), between 20th and 21st January 2012. This year’s theme is ‘Value Creation through Human Development – The Emerging Dimensions’.

Online PR News – 12-December-2011 – – The organisers expect to attract over 500 delegates from across India, as well as some international attendees with a particular interest in human resourcing issues in this emerging economy.

The conference includes presentations and workshops, speeches by keynote speakers and an awards ceremony. The All India Best Trainer awards and a number of Life Time Achievement awards will be presented.

ISTD members are encouraged to invite colleagues to the convention and will be supported by publicity materials, such as brochures and posters, which will be distributed to local chapters. Members are also invited to submit papers for potential presentation at the conference.

This year’s keynote speaker will be Padmashree Dr. Pritam Singh, Director General of the International Management Institute, New Delhi. Dr. Pritam Singh is a leading expert in human resources and is on the board of more than 50 private and public sector organisations, helping them initiate the change process and develop a winning corporate strategy. As a consultant, Dr Pritam Singh has worked with more than 200 CEOs in India and abroad and led over 100 retreats for top management of both private and public sector organisations, as well as multi-national corporations.

Also in attendance will be Shri Purnendu Basu, the Honourable Minister-in-Charge of Labour and ESI, Government of West Bengal.

ISTD is a leading national institution dedicated to improving human resources management through training and development. A founding member of the International Federation of Training and Development Organisations and Asian Regional Training and Development Organisations, the society is a non-profit making organisation, established in 1970.

Tickets for the convention are Rs 3,000 for ISTD members and Rs 3,500 for non-members; hotels in Kolkata City Centre are within easy reach of the Science Centre.
