New eLearning series provides innovative training for power industry

Online PR News – 09-December-2011 – – Technology Transfer Services, Inc. (TTS) has announced the release of its Combined Cycle Series as part of a growing eLearning library. The Web-based training series is comprised of 45 different eLearning modules and covers core subject areas such as fundamentals, gas and steam turbine operation, HRSG, balance of plant, and electrical power generation and distribution.

The conversational tone and detailed demos and graphics in each module make the information easily understandable for both novices and veterans of the power industry and ideal for new plant employees and plant managers alike. The series discusses plant procedures and safety measures, various systems and components, and how everything works together to provide maximum plant efficiency. The written content is accompanied by videos, diagrams, and 3-D demos that show the learner exactly what is being discussed, where it is located, and how it works.

“The development and release of TTS’ Web-based training series on combined cycle power plants represents a significant leap forward in the world of eLearning. We are both proud and pleased to offer this series to our clients and look forward to providing the industrial community with many more additional training series to meet their present and future needs,” says series project manager Michael Cantrell.

The Combined Cycle Series and other courses included in TTS’ eLearning library are designed to bring a simplified yet in-depth and interactive educational experience to the learner. In addition to informative content and cutting-edge graphics, each module comes complete with a quiz after each topic and a final test to assess the user’s knowledge of the material. The series can be used in any LMS and can be hosted by either TTS or the client. It can also be accessed through TTS’ LMS platform ODESIE®, which also includes industrial wikis, community forums, simulated field tasks, mini games, and an immersive virtual world.
