And as Bhojpuri films find new audiences and regain their popularity, several Bollywood stars who once acted in Bhojpuri films have ventured into production.

One of the new entrants in Bhojpuri film production is actor and winner of reality TV show Big Boss Rahul Roy, who is making a foray into production with ‘Elaan’, featuring Bhojpuri megastar Manoj Tewari in the lead role. ‘Elaan’ is about a fearless cop (Manoj Tiwari) on a mission to eliminate terror and establish peace in society, in which he is assisted by Rahul Roy, Pankaj Kesari and Yogunder Tiwari. One of the most anticipated Bhojpuri films in recent times, ‘Elaan’ is directed by Dhiraj Kumar, with music by Gunwant Sen.

The number of Bhojpuri films releasing on the UFO Moviez network has increased steadily over the years, with 9 films in 2006, 52 films in 2009 and 62 in 2010. Commenting on the release of ‘Elaan’, producer Rahul Roy says, “I am very happy to bring ‘Elaan’ to audiences across the country on the UFO Moviez network. Right from Aashiqui to Bigg Boss, my fans have always been supportive of my work and ‘Elaan’ is a film dedicated to all my fans.”

In 2011, UFO has released 56 Bhojpuri films on its network till date.
