High Position's Terry Heffernan took part in round table discussions focussing on site speed and content.
Online PR News – 22-January-2010 – – Site load time has been identified as one of the major factors for successful SEO in 2010, according to participants in a recent round table discussion in Manchester. Terry Heffernan, Commercial Director of High Position SEO, took part in the talks which also involved leading figures from UKFast, Oomagoo and CSI Media.
UKFast’s Managing Director Lawrence Jones believed that well written, unique content would continue to be an essential component of SEO, but that delivering that content as quickly as possible would be an increasingly important factor for good rankings.
High Position’s Terry Heffernan agreed, "By talking to our technical teams certainly we see that speed is going to be more important and it could be a window of opportunity. Speed is one of the elements of SEO but it is about fine-tuning the whole machine to deliver the best performance."
The discussions highlighted once more that the end user’s online experience was of prime importance to Google, with their Chrome browser and Caffeine update both focussing heavily on fast site load times. The round table talks also re-iterated that expert control of social media, blogs, press releases and video content – along with optimising for speed – would be crucial for the most effective SEO in 2010.
