Strengthening its position in the property maintenance sector has seen a national painting contractor buck the current economic trend with figures revealing year-on-year growth of 100 per cent over the last five years.

Now, to reflect the long-standing success of the business - and significant advances into the property maintenance sector - the company has rebranded to Seddon Property Services for 2010.
Neil Hand, joint Managing Director of Seddon Property Services, said: “This is more than a name change but reflects the natural development of the business.
“We have seen 100 per cent growth over the last five years, from a turnover of £25 million in 2004 to a £53 million projection for 2010.
“In recent years we have seen the property maintenance aspect of the business grow, supported by a number of refurbishment contacts with leading housing associations across the UK - and a nationwide contract with Whitbread to maintain their Premier Inns.
“As a result, the new name Seddon Property Services better reflects the mix of the business, which will see the maintenance and refurbishment element represent 45 per cent of our turnover in 2010.”
The geographical coverage of Seddon Property Services has also grown, with eight new regional offices opened - including two by acquisitions of Cundy Anglia and Dennis Kehoe to give a foothold in East Anglia and Lancashire.
There are now 27 offices across England, Scotland and Wales, supported by the company’s head office in Stoke-on-Trent. Further expansion is planned for 2010 with the opening of offices in Scotland, Manchester and the South West.
In line with the strategy for the sustained, secure and successful growth of the business, the management team at Seddon Property Services has invested heavily in staff development – to ensure consistent delivery of quality work and customer satisfaction.
An industry-leading £1 million investment is made annually to deliver a fully qualified workforce for the future.
NVQ training has also been expanded to cover not only painting and decorating, but customer care and maintenance operations.
