Southfield, Mich.-Based Ciena Healthcare Breaks Ground on New Skilled Nursing Community

Ciena Heathcare's multi-million dollar investment “Grand Blanc Care Center” to feature short- and long-term care, private suites, job creation and executive chef

Online PR News – 13-October-2011 – – Ciena Healthcare, a leading manager and operator of skilled nursing and rehabilitation communities in Michigan and Connecticut, has broken ground on a new skilled nursing community in Grand Blanc Township. “Grand Blanc Care Center,” located at 1330 Grand Pointe Court near the interchange of I-475 and E. Hill Road, will be a spacious, state-of-the-art facility offering 74 short-term rehabilitation and long-term care suites with private baths in each.

Built at a cost of more than $8.5 million, and expected to create more than 120 full time and part time jobs, Grand Blanc Care Center is scheduled to open in summer of 2012. The community will feature a living area designed to care for the needs of residents requiring a short-term rehabilitation stay and contain a separate living area designed to meet the needs of traditional, long-term care geriatric residents.

“We are very pleased to have the opportunity to provide high quality care in a state-of- the-art facility in Genesee County,” said Mohammad Qazi, President, Ciena Healthcare. “Grand Blanc Care Center will have a homelike environment for all residents and include the latest safety features plus an easy to navigate floor plan for both residents and staff.”

The nearly 68,000 sq. ft. facility also will feature six bariatric rooms, a rehabilitative therapy room and a spa. A Meadow Walk is planned that will include natural and native plants for residents and their families to enjoy. Several dining venues and options will cater to the various needs of the residents, including a Main Dining Room, a Restorative Dining Room, a Private Dining Room and an ala cart 24-hour room service menu created by an executive chef.

“We look forward to Ciena’s Grand Blanc Care Center becoming a part of our community,” said Micki Hoffman, Supervisor, Grand Blanc Township. “Providing high quality care for both short- and long-term residents is a great asset to Grand Blanc, along with employment opportunities with a stable, Michigan-based company.”
