Benefits of whole grains
Online PR News – 11-October-2011 – – On September 17, 2011, Wortzel Integrative Dental Care co-sponsored a free event with Breathe Fitness Studio in celebration of Yoga & Whole Grains Month. Everyone who attended enjoyed their choice of “Whole Body Yoga” with Alex Shipman, “Chair Yoga” with Florette Applebaum, or “Heads Up Yoga” with Donna Wortzel. The event ended with healthy whole grain treats made by Dr. Rob Wortzel's dental team: Agnes, Lori, Monica and Donna.
Wortzel Integrative Dental Care honors the mouth/body connection as an essential ingredient in living a long, healthy and vibrant life. Nutrition provides the “fuel” to help your “body engine” work. Since the digestive process begins in the mouth, thorough chewing allows the release of the many essential nutrients that whole grains offer.
Health experts advise everyone – men and women, young and old – that grains are a healthy necessity in every diet, and that it's important to eat at least half our grains as "whole grains."
Studies show that eating whole grains instead of refined grains lowers the risk of many chronic diseases. While benefits are most pronounced for those consuming at least 3 servings daily, some studies show reduced risks from as little as one serving daily. The message: every whole grain in your diet helps!
Wortzel Integrative Dental Care plans to sponsor another Celebrate Yoga and Whole Grains Month event in 2012.
