Aamir Pervez, General Manager, Corp Executive Hotel Apartments – Al Barsha, believes that selling his rooms on a device that people carry all day will not only boost bookings through the hotel website but will make it extremely convenient for his guests to do so with just the tap of a button.
He said, “We have a fully implemented mobile strategy which includes an application available for download by iPhone, Android and Blackberry users. It is also one of the ways to transform guests into repeat customers.
“In addition to making bookings easy, this application is extremely handy to look up the hotel location by accessing google map that shows you the way from exactly where you are. At the same time it makes searching simpler. You may be in a taxi and you can check out hotel facilities and promotions just as you would on your website and book your room right there.”
Corp Executive Hotel Apartments’ mobile strategy seems to be paying off. In the very first week over 140 people downloaded the hotel’s apps – practically even before the word was out there.
According to Forrester Research, mobile bookings are growing faster than online, which are increasing at around 10 per cent a year.

“There are approximately 5.3 billion mobile subscribers today (which is 77% of the world population) and nearly 25% of those use smartphones. It has been revealed by mobile analytics firm Flurry that the average user spends 81 minutes a day using mobile apps, more time than is spent Web browsing on a computer or other device. In the coming months the impact of mobile apps on the bottom line of hotel business will be far more noticeable than it is today.
