Luxury Sports Sedan Wins 2011 Motorist Choice Award
Online PR News – 06-October-2011 – – NASHUA, N.H. – Porsche owners are no strangers to admiring stares, and now two automotive industry researchers have officially recognized the Porsche Panamera for its head-turning ability. IntelliChoice and AutoPacific recently presented the Porsche Panamera with a 2011 Motorist Choice Award in the Head Turner category for premium vehicles.
Industry researchers IntelliChoice and AutoPacific monitor cost of ownership, resale value and owner satisfaction data for currently available vehicles. For the past six years, they have combined the results of their research to recognize industry leaders in 15 lifestyle categories with their annual Motorist Choice Awards. In presenting the Premium Head Turner award to the Porsche Panamera, the two research groups considered both owner satisfaction with the high-performance sedan, as well as ownership costs over five years.
“This award isn’t just about good looks, which the boldly design Panamera certainly has,” said Larry Bedell, general manager of New Hampshire Porsche dealer Porsche of Nashua. “This award recognizes both the quality of the Panamera’s craftsmanship and its reliability, qualities that can be surprisingly hard to find in premium luxury vehicles.”
The 2012 Porsche Panamera houses a standard 3.6-liter, 300-horsepower V6 engine that delivers 295 pound-feet of torque, giving even the base-level model enough power to speed past the rubberneckers on any New England road. Plus, details like the Panamera’s 18-inch wheels, twin single-tube tailpipes and black trim exterior highlights will turn the heads of New Hampshire Porsche admirers even while it is parked.
Interior toys add even more value to Porsche Panamera owners, including a leather-trimmed steering wheel, a high-resolution TFT color screen and a Bose surround sound system. The elevated center console, optional adaptive sport seats and an available SportDesign steering wheel with paddle shifters offer sporty touches for those who want the feel and handling of a racecar.
The Panamera will soon be turning heads well away from the road in airport lounges and gates around the United States. A new advertising campaign from Porsche features Quick Response (QR) codes printed on boarding passes that can be scanned with travelers’ smartphones, allowing access to virtual brochures and videos about the 2012 Panamera and 2012 Porsche 911. Interested buyers can even schedule a test drive from 10,000 feet and take the Panamera out on the road at a local Porsche dealer after they land.
“The new QR code campaign is just another away for Porsche to help turn people’s ownership dreams into reality,” added Bedell. “Instead of staring at the departure and arrival times, travelers can learn about everything the Panamera and 911 offer. The only downside is that those videos make flying look really dull by comparison.”
