Family 5k & Stilettos Run to raise funds to stop child slavery
Online PR News – 23-September-2011 – – For immediate release -- This Saturday, September 24th, the Denver community will come together for the second annual Denver Family 5k & Stilettos Run for Stop Child Trafficking Now, with one goal: to STOP child slavery in our city, our country, our world.
If you think child trafficking doesn't happen in Denver, THINK AGAIN, it does. Child trafficking is one of the fastest growing crimes in the world and UNICEF values the global market of child trafficking at over $12 billion a year with over 2 million child victims. Men, women and children are all victims but, the most vulnerable groups, those with limited rights or protections, have been the hardest hit… especially children.
Trafficking children into the sex industry is done because there is a demand. Predators seek out vulnerable victims and lure them under false pretenses into situations they cannot escape from. No matter the reason, children have become sexual commodities to be bought and sold for the pleasure of exploiters. These children are scarred for life and need help – our help.
“Last year, we had more than 400 racers in the Family 5k & Stiletto Run, and raised more than $35,000. This year, we’re expecting even greater involvement, and we need our entire city to get involved!” Denver SCT Ambassador Julia Gentry says.

Stop Child Trafficking Now is on a mission to stop child slavery. SCTNow targets the source of child trafficking: predators that drive the sex industry everywhere in the world, including our own Denver community. Any donation helps fund highly qualified teams of operatives who investigate and gather evidence against the predators victimizing children around the world.
Any media coverage will help keep operatives in the field, and give hope to the millions of children enslaved today.
